Adsense Blender Blown

As I thought, Google didn’t like John Chow’s efforts at blending his Google adsesnse ads. He recieved an email today asking him to change the way he presents his google links within 72 hours.

John is a largish client of adsense, doing 4 or 5 figures a month I guess. It makes me wonder what would happen if a smaller client, say doing three figures a month, did the same thing. Would they get 72 hours to fix the error of their ways or would they be given the boot without a second chance ?

The other issue to ponder is did Google notice this by spidering the site, or was it all the publicity the site got with his recent digg-a-thon ?

I’m not getting Google

Another site I have (that is powered by wordpress) has a page listed in google that I created three days ago. But the new page and the root index page are the only two listed in google. The sites been up for about two months and has about 20 pages.
I can only think of some kind of wierd partial sandbox effect. Anyone else got any other ideas ?

Ultimate Adsense Blending

John Chow has a post about blending adsense into your site. While I think it’s a great way to increase your clicks, but I’m not sure if google is going to like.

What’s This About ?

I’ve been online since somewhere around 1997, from 2000 to 2003 I made a living exclusively online from affiliate marketing income and website design. If you notice how I said I didnt work online ? That’s because for those four years I did a lot of travelling and a lot of TV watching. The websites worked for themselves and I loved it.
I made the mistake of getting too casual about the work and ended up back in the real workforce to pay the bills. Well I’ve done that for a few years now and I can’t see myself doing that forever.

So while I’m catching up on everything that’s changed about making money online in the last three years I thought I’d use this site to share what I know from the old days and what I’m learning now.
